House & Pet Rules
Welcome to Lake St. Catherine Log Cabin! To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful experience for all guests, please review the following house rules carefully.
1. Minimum Age Requirement: The primary renter must be at least 25 years old and remain on the property for the entire duration of the stay. A valid photo ID is required to complete the booking process.
2. Booking Requirements: Reservations are finalized only after completing ID verification through our trusted third-party provider, Superhog, selecting either a $500 refundable damage deposit or a $15 non-refundable damage waiver (covering accidental damages up to $500), and signing the rental agreement within 24 hours of booking.
3. Parking: A maximum of 4 cars is permitted, parked only in designated areas: the upper driveway near the hot tub area or in front of the garage. Oversized vehicles such as boats, trailers, RVs, and camper vans require prior approval.
4. Maintenance During Your Stay: Routine maintenance may occur during your stay, including pool/hot tub care, lawn mowing, and blueberry farm upkeep. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible and make every effort to minimize disruptions. Access to the exterior of the property may occasionally be necessary.
5. Winter Weather: During winter, snow removal will be prioritized to maintain driveway accessibility. However, Vermont's "passable road" policy may cause delays during active storms. Guests should plan ahead for snow and ice conditions and allow extra time for travel.
6. Guest Access: Guests have full access to the cabin’s first and second floors, which include four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and living and dining areas. Outdoor amenities include the seasonal pool, hot tub, fire pit, and blueberry farm. The basement, garage, and outbuildings are not available for guest use.
7. Pool and Hot Tub Rules:Â To ensure safety and enjoyment for all, please follow these rules and guidelines:
- Supervision: Children under 16 years old must always be supervised by an adult while in or around the pool and hot tub.
- Pets: Pets are not allowed on the pool deck, in the pool, or in the hot tub.
- Glass Containers: For safety, no glass containers are permitted in the pool or hot tub areas. Please use plastic or non-breakable items.
- Cleanliness: Guests should shower before entering the pool or hot tub to maintain water cleanliness.
-
Swim Diapers Required: Any individuals who are not potty trained must wear a swim diaper while using the pool or hot tub. This helps maintain cleanliness and safety for all guests.
-
No Additives Allowed: Adding chemicals, oils, or other substances to the pool or hot tub is strictly prohibited. These actions can disrupt water balance and damage the amenities.
- Safety Features: Keep gates, doors, and covers closed and secured when not in use, especially when children are present. Do not tamper with or disable any safety features or equipment.
- Prohibited Activities: Running on the pool deck, diving into the pool, and rough play are not allowed.
- Hot Tub Capacity: The hot tub has a maximum capacity of 6 people at a time.
- Time Limits: Please limit hot tub use to 15 minutes at a time to ensure safety and comfort.
- Impairment: Do not use the pool or hot tub while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or substances that may impair judgment or physical abilities.
- Use at Your Own Risk: The pool and hot tub are used at your own risk. Guests are responsible for their safety and the safety of anyone in their group.
8. Pet Policy: Guests must obtain prior approval for pets. A maximum of 2 dogs is allowed per stay, with a $100 pet fee. Pets may not be left unattended for more than 6 hours and must be crated when left alone. Crates are available upon request. Pets are not allowed on the pool deck, in the pool, or in the hot tub. Pets must have current vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and wear valid rabies and ID tags. Proof of vaccinations must be submitted prior to arrival. If pets sleep on beds, guests must provide their own bedding (e.g., sheets, comforters, pillows). Service animals and emotional support animals must be disclosed before booking.
9. Events and Parties: Hosting events, parties, or gatherings beyond the registered number of guests is not allowed without prior approval. Additional guests must be pre-approved, and exceeding occupancy limits may result in cancellation without refund. Noise must be kept to a respectful level, especially during quiet hours (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM). The parking limit of 4 cars applies to approved events; additional parking requires prior arrangements. Guests hosting approved events are responsible for leaving the property clean and undamaged.
10. Rural Home Information: The property operates on a septic system, so only septic-safe toilet paper (e.g., Scott brand) may be used. Do not flush wipes, grease, or other non-liquid items. Guests are responsible for any damage to the septic system. The cabin uses well water, filtered for drinking through the refrigerator. Monthly pest control is performed, but due to the rural setting, occasional bugs indoors are normal. Wildlife such as deer, squirrels, and birds may be seen, and neighboring farm animals may roam the property. Roosters may crow in the early morning. Feeding or approaching wildlife is prohibited.
11. Longer Stays: For stays longer than 2 weeks, a minimum cleaning service is required every two weeks at $70 in addition to the standard $125 cleaning fee.
