The Blueberry Farm
At our Vermont vacation rental, we’re proud to offer a unique experience at our chemical-free blueberry farm. With over 200 mature bushes, our farm is maintained with care and respect for the environment. Instead of using chemical treatments, we rely on natural pest management from our neighbors' free-range chickens and ducks, which help keep the blueberry fields thriving. Each year, we carefully prune the bushes to promote healthy growth and abundant harvests.
What You Should Know About Picking Blueberries:
- Handle with Care: Please avoid hanging on the bushes or breaking branches, as this can damage the plants and affect future growth.
- Best Times to Pick: Blueberries are at their freshest and easiest to pick in the early morning or evening. Picking during the full sun of the day may cause the berries to warm up, leading to softness and mashing when stacked in your basket.
- Enjoy the Experience: Take your time, savor the peaceful surroundings, and enjoy the magic of harvesting your own fresh, delicious berries.
Whether you’re enjoying a quiet morning walk or gathering berries for a snack, our blueberry farm adds a sweet touch to your Lake St. Catherine getaway.
